From there, I pick out the cards I find most likely to perform well in my deck, playtest, and then adjust as needed for my playgroup
Wick has one of these abilities built in, letting you pay one blue, black, and red mana along side sacrificing a Snail to have Wick deal damage equal to that Snail to each opponent, while you draw cards equal to that value
